You could also make money from crystals and dyes though they don’t seem to sell for a lot so you would have to make up for it in volume. Maybe if you got your hands on rare dye or crystal schematic.
I guess it depends what you mean by “do not sell for a lot”. When I can craft a color crystal for less than 10k and they sell for 40k to 100k…that’s pretty good profits.
Color Crystals and Dye Modules are my primary source of artifice income and they all sell consistently. But I do not focus on the top grade schematics in these categories. The primary color, Color Crystals (blue, red, green, yellow, and orange use grades 1 through 5 materials and the schematics are available from the trainer. I never buy them off the GTN, I run missions to acquire the TH materials (I have three TH characters) and use Stronghold Color Crystal decos for the archaeology mats (you gather the specific color crystal AND power crystals and artifact fragments from the nodes just like in the field)
Granted when the changes to crafting of color crystals happened in 4.0 I had a large stock of all grades of materials so I had a good starting point, so starting from nothing you may struggle some.
As for dye modules…ANYTHING with black or white sells well. Many of the schematics come from reputation vendors so you will have to work for them, but reputation is legacy wide so while tedious it is not unreachable. But again these are not top grade schematics, they use materials ranging from grade 5 to 9.
Also the rating 228 lightsaber hilts and relics (you get the schematic by crafting the trained 220 and REing it) sell very well and are profitable.
The overall point being that artifice has an extremely wide range of craftable and profitable items to choose from. If you tunnel on only the very tippy top chances are you will be disappointed.
